Pantry Play
Subscription & billing help
Everything about paying for Pantry Play Premium — and how to stop.
Pricing
Premium is $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year. It renews automatically until you cancel. Any sales tax or VAT is calculated at checkout based on your country, so the total you confirm is the total you pay.
Start on the Premium page. Free recipes stay free — you never need Premium to browse, save, or write your own recipes.
How to subscribe
- Create a free account or sign in.
- Open the Premium page and choose monthly or yearly.
- Complete checkout in the secure payment window.
- Premium switches on as soon as the payment is confirmed — usually within a few seconds.
If Membership & billing still shows Free a minute later, use Refresh status there. It re-checks directly with the payment provider.
Using a promo code
Enter the code on Membership & billing first. Codes that unlock Premium outright apply immediately. Discount codes are saved to your account and applied automatically when you check out on the plan they belong to — a monthly code only works on the monthly plan, and a yearly code only on the yearly plan. The discount shows on the checkout total before you pay.
Managing or cancelling your membership
Everything about your access lives on one page: Manage membership
- Paid Premium members manage or cancel through the payment provider's secure portal, opened with Manage subscription on that page.
- Invitation-code Premium is complimentary: there is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel.
- Invitation-code members who no longer want Premium can use Remove Premium access on Membership & billing.
- Cancelling a paid subscription and requesting a refund are two different things.
Cancelling stops the next renewal — you keep Premium until the end of the period you already paid for, and nothing further is charged.
Your recipes, saved recipes and cookbooks are never deleted when Premium ends. Only recipes marked Premium become locked again.
Updating your card or getting an invoice
Both live behind Manage subscription on Membership & billing, which opens the payment provider's secure portal in a new tab. Pantry Play never sees or stores your card details.
If a payment fails
We'll show a notice on your account and the payment provider retries your card over the following days. Premium stays on until the end of the period you already paid for, so there is time to update your card. If the retries don't succeed, the subscription ends and your account returns to Free.
Cancelling vs. refunding
These are two different things. Cancelling stops future renewals and keeps your access until the end of the period you already paid for — it does not automatically refund a charge that has already been taken. A refund is a separate request about a payment that already happened.
To ask for a refund, use the contact form with “Billing, subscription, or refund” selected (or email hello@pantryplay.io) with the email address on your account, roughly when you were charged, and what happened. The full Refund Policy explains how requests are reviewed, what Paddle handles as merchant of record, and how approved refunds are returned.
If you have complimentary Premium
Premium from an invitation code or a manual grant is not a paid recurring subscription: nothing renews, nothing is charged, and there is nothing to cancel. Membership & billing shows where your access came from, when it ends if it's time-limited, and lets you remove it if you'd rather return to the free plan.
Hit the five-recipe guest limit?
That limit only needs a free account — not Premium. Creating one removes the guest-preview cap straight away.
